New Referees
FSA will hold a 1 day training clinic for mini-soccer referees who are 12 or 13 years old by April 1, 2010. The course is tentatively scheduled for Saturday April 17th. New referees 14 or older on April 1 can take the 2 day ‘entry-level’ course at another club and then ref for FSA by contacting the FSA referee-in-chief at peter.boag@gmail.com or the soccer hotline at 613-530-4250. There are entry-level ref courses in Kingston on March 27/28 and again on May 1/2; contact Peter Boag for more information. A list of all 2010 Ontario referee training courses is available at: http://www.ontariosoccer.net/ProgramsServices/Referee-Development/Referee-Courses.aspx
Returning Referees
There is a mandatory meeting for all FSA referees, tentatively scheduled for Saturday April 17th, time and place TBA. This includes new referees who take a course this year. You will be contacted with details.
Returning referees must renew their referee registration by May 1st or a $15 late fee applies; completed renewal forms can be mailed to OSA or brought to the April 17th meeting. There are two different forms - one for under 18 and one for 18 or older refs (ages as of April 1, 2010). Get renewal forms at:
http://www.ontariosoccer.net/ProgramsServices/Referee-Development/Referee-Registration.aspx
Referees not registered at the start of the season will not be assigned games. FSA referees who perform satisfactorily can request reimbursement of their registration fee, except for any late fees.
